"Fastest, most reliable liquid detection sensor"? A bold statement but that's what IDEC claims for its model SA1W/SA1W-MK Water Detection Sensor...


This sensor uses a laser beam tuned to the resonant frequency of an H2O molecule; hence, it's able to detect any liquid containing water molecules-without physical contact. Water-containing fluids look like a black wall to the SA1W.

With a lens attachment, this sensor is even able to detect liquid level contained inside an sealed almunum can.

Accurate sensing through transparent materials
Long sensing range; 31.5in (800mm)
High-speed response time: 0.5msec
Selectable through beam or diffuse reflective fiber cable
