How far can one reliably and accurately transmit a 4-20 mA Signal over a twisted-pair shielded cable? In the needed application, 150 ft is required. What AWG cable should be used? A voltage/current meter with a 4-20 mA output will be connected to a PLC.

150 feet should be no problem, assuming this is the only device on the loop. You can go up to 1000 ft pretty easily. Based on some applications, up to 5000 feet is also do-able. Try 18 AWG shielded, twisted-pair (ground shield at PLC only).
