A magnetic sensor is a device which provides high sensitivity to magnetic targets and is ideal for use in position and speed applications. These sensors can detect magnets through barriers made of non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, aluminum, plastic or wood. Sensing ranges may be up to 85mm.
