Two sound card data acqusition in MATLAB

I am working on a beam forming project. We want to acquire data from
four microphones into our computer through a soundcard. I understand
that there are many ways of creating an ADC for data acquisition, but
since our budget is very small I was thinking if I could use two- two
channel sound cards and get the data from the four channels. Is this
possible? I also, know that I can use a four channel sound card, but
I want to know if I could use two - two channel sound cards or not?

With respect to using soundcards for DAQ, the info from this page may help:

Not sure if you're willing to switch from MathWorks to one of the freewares above.

With respect to using sound cards with MathWorks, some relevant information is here:

Most modern PC and operating systems will support multiple sound cards. Using them simultaneously is another matter.
