The non-US company I'm working with wants to run power and data within two inches of each other -- without any shielding. Normally, I site the NEC but this country doesn't use it so I need some sort of documentation to prove this is not a good idea. Does anyone know where I can find something like this?
The power is 120v power utility with an isolated ground to run computers, phones and task lighting. The data is cat 5e for computer and telephones. The runs will travel together for 12ft. in the raceway at a distance of ~ 2 inches apart.

| In a similar project I supervised some time ago, a local contractor ran power and signal cables together in an overhead tray. It would have been prohibitively expensive to replace the cable (being in a very remote location), so we shielded the runs externally, for the distance that the two cable types ran together. We then grounded one end of the shielding, used a grounding braid and slipped it over the ends of the cables one at a time to limit circuit outages. This could be a viable alternative if country's ordinances do no specify proper cabling techniques. |
